Edmonton Police are seeking witnesses or dash-cam footage from anyone who may have seen a crash on Anthony Henday Drive near 184 street in the early hours of Oct. 31.

In a release, Edmonton Police Service says that officers responded at 2:41 a.m. Friday to a crash on the eastbound lanes of the Henday near 184 Street. They received reports that a white Mitsubishi Lancer had struck the pillars of the 184 Street overpass. As a result of the collision, the car caught fire. But, a road maintenance worker came on the scene and was able to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher.

Firefighters extracted the driver from the wreckage and he was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. He is reported to be in critical but stable condition.
