COLUMBUS — There’s a familiar face on the Ohio State sidelines Saturday who traded his scarlet and grey for blue and white in the offseason.

Penn State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles helped lead the Buckeyes to a national championship last season. Then, former PSU coach James Franklin lured the Philadelphia native to Pennsylvania with a record contract averaging $3.1 million annually.

Knowles spent three seasons in Columbus, leading some of the nation’s best defenses. But he’ll be tasked Saturday with holding back a No. 1 Buckeyes offense that is cruising with an efficient passing attack.
