A freeway crash that took place in Sherman Oaks early Saturday morning left at least one person dead, authorities say.

California Highway Patrol officials confirmed to KTLA that units were dispatched to the northbound 405 Freeway, just north of the 101 Freeway interchange, at 3:28 a.m. on reports of a traffic collision.

When the officers arrived alongside paramedics, they found that one person had died at the scene.
