MUNCIE, IN — A New Castle man was shot on the early morning of Saturday, Nov. 1, in a neighborhood north of the Ball State University campus.
Melissa Criswell, deputy chief for the Muncie Police Department, said the 20-year-old gunshot victim was driven by acquaintances to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after being shot in the 1700 block of North Rosewood Avenue.
Late Saturday morning, he was reported to be in stable condition with what was described as a non-life-threatening wound. The New Castle man was also being detained on suspicion of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, the deputy chief said.
Dispatchers received a report of a shooting at the Rosewood Avenue address about 1 a.m.
Criswell said the investigation was ongoing, with witnesses being interviewed and surveillan
