CHICO — “Sometimes the wins aren’t super pretty, they’re gritty, and we got a gritty win tonight, so I’m super proud of them.” That was the message Chico High football coach Chris Click shared after the Panthers scored late to defeat Foothill 7-6 on senior night Friday at Panther Stadium.
Throughout the game Chico’s offense struggled to take advantage of scoring opportunities, and was scoreless through the first three and a half quarters. The Panthers got an interception late in the third quarter, but missed a 37-yard field goal early in the fourth.
