KANSAS CITY, Mo. – A girl’s seatbelt came undone on a roller coaster just as the ride went down the first hill, according to KCTV in Kansas City, Missouri.
The couple told KCTV they heard screams coming from behind them while they were riding Mamba, a roller coaster at Worlds of Fun. The mishap occurred in mid-October.
The two reached behind them to push the girl down and keep her in the seat, KCTV reports.
“I assumed it was her first time on the ride and then she said my seatbelt came undone,” Chris Evins told KCTV.
The Missouri theme park said this week that the restraint system was inspected and met safety standards before the ride reopened to guests.
