More than 1,000 northwest Ohioans ran for truth, justice, and organ donation awareness Saturday morning.
Runners including Toledo residents Dawn and Deanna Price wore superhero paraphernalia like capes and masks, in honor of loved ones who had donated their organs after they died, as part of Life Connection of Ohio’s 12th annual Hero Hustle 5K at Dana, Inc. in Maumee.
The 5K aims to raise awareness about organ, eye, and tissue donations and the impact they can have on the lives of others, said Kara Steele, director of community services for Life Connection of Ohio, a nonprofit that promotes and facilitates organ donation across the region.
