Former Yankees slugger Mark Teixeira continues to align himself with the right.

Just days after railing against “shameful and wrong” SNAP benefits , on Halloween, he took to social media to mock Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, a democratic socialist, for trick-or-treating.

“Classic… Leave some candy for the kids, Bernie," Teixeira posted on X/Twitter , above a meme of Sanders that reads, “I heard you were giving out free stuff.”

“Happy Halloween, everyone, even the socialists!” Teixeira wrote.

Earlier this week, Teixeira wrote a lengthy post criticizing SNAP benefits, claiming that it’s full of “waste, fraud, and abuse.”
