A 52-year-old man would up in hospital after being stabbed during an altercation in Montreal’s Lachine borough early Saturday, according to Montreal police.
Emergency services were called around 1:15 a.m. to the intersection of Remembrance St. and 32nd Ave. after reports of a man injured with a sharp object, police said.
When officers arrived, they found the victim conscious, but suffering from serious injuries to his upper body. He was taken to hospital in stable condition, according to police.
Initial information suggests the incident began as a conflict between the victim and a suspect around 11 p.m. Friday that escalated into violence, police said.
The area was cordoned off overnight as investigators examined the scene and searched for nearby surveillance footage.
