HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Hoppe Development broke ground this week on the Project Cedar Park in south Hastings, near Good Samaritan Village.

Hoppe Development plans to build affordable and workforce housing for the Hastings community. The project is supported by the Hastings Community Redevelopment Authority.

The project cost $14 million and developers are happy to see Hastings invest in affordable housing.

“You can’t have economic growth without housing. Because housing’s where an employee spends a night,” said Fred Hoppe, principal of Hoppe Development. “You know? And so, it’s... they go hand in hand. And we all want Nebraska to grow.”

There will be 58 housing units that will be available. The construction is planned to be completed in 18 months.
