On October 30, Panjab University students began an indefinite protest outside the Vice-Chancellor’s office, demanding the rollback of the ‘no-protest affidavit’ required from hostel residents. The students called it a direct attack on their right to dissent, saying the campus has always been a space for dialogue and expression. Saturday marked the third consecutive day of the ongoing protest by students against the undemocratic affidavit issued by PU.

The university hosted its Alumni Meet Saturday, but the students continued their peaceful demonstration. At 10:30 am, the university authorities called for a meeting with student representatives and various student organisations to discuss the issue.
