Rs 2000 note phase-out nearly complete, says RBI; 98% of notes returned to banks — All you need to know

The Reserve Bank of India said 98.37 per cent of Rs 2000 banknotes have been returned to the banking system since the denomination’s withdrawal in May 2023. Only Rs 5,817 crore worth of notes remain in circulation, though they continue to be legal tender.
