Accumulating snow is officially back in Michigan.
The National Weather Service Marquette in Negaunee Township shared in a social media post that it had received its first measurable snow of the season on Saturday, Nov. 1.
The agency measured 0.1 inches of snow early Saturday morning and anticipated the amount could increase since it was still snowing.
The NWS said the average first day of measurable snow at the location is usually Oct. 17 and they average 5.3 inches for October, but there had been only a trace this year.
Snow showers were expected to continue through Saturday afternoon in Negaunee Township and no additional snow is currently in the NWS forecast through Wednesday.
