A young woman has been airlifted to hospital after a horror crash in Dumfries and Galloway. ‌

Emergency services were called to a two-car collision on the B7005 at the junction of the A714 near Wigtown at 12.10pm on Saturday, November 12. ‌

A 21-year-old woman, who was one of the drivers, was taken to hospital by air ambulance. Her condition is currently not known at this time. ‌

Two other people have been taken to hospital as a precaution. ‌

Pictures from the scene show a Citroen smashed in at the front of the vehicle where it collided with a Renault hatchback. There is extensive damage to the car where the roof and doors appear to have been taken off by specialists.

The road was closed off by police.
