KARLSTAD, Minn. — One person is dead after a report that an unknown person allegedly entered a home in Karlstad, Minnesota.
According to a report on the Kittson County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, a call for service came shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, asking for help in the 4000 block of state Highway 11 in Karlstad.
According to the police report, "the reporting party said an unknown person had entered their home, assaulted them and now had the reporting party's firearm. A shot was then heard, and the reporting party was no longer responsive to the 911 dispatcher."
Deputies arrived on scene to find a person dead. They recovered a firearm near the body.
