GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Hello, Hugo!
The John Ball Zoo's newest addition to the family, Hugo the pygmy hippo, is finally viewable in his habitat with his mom, Penelope.
The zoo said in a Facebook post announcing Hugo's public debut on Saturday that eager visitors should be prepared for a little game of "hippo hide-and-seek."
Hugo and Penelope love naps and might not always be visible, so visitors should keep their eyes peeled to catch Hugo peeking out from the hay.
As Hugo becomes more comfortable, guests should have an easier time spotting him.
Zoo officials asked for the public's patience as they're expecting Hugo to draw some large crowds, and encouraged the community to purchase zoo tickets online to avoid longer wait times.
Born on Sept. 3, Hugo spent his time behind the scene
