US Vice President JD Vance issued a clarification on Friday.
New Delhi: Following US Vice President J.D. Vance’s statement on interfaith marriage, the Hindu American Foundation (HAF) has appealed to him to reconnect with Hinduism. Vance had said that his wife, Usha, who grew up in a Hindu family, inspired him to reconnect with Christianity. He expressed hope that Usha would also convert to Christianity one day.
What did HAF say?
HAF stated on Friday, October 31, “Mr. Vice President, if your wife has reconnected you with your religion, you should also reconnect with Hinduism. Hinduism does not require that your spouse view things the same way you do regarding religion.”
