TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. —

A portion of the Tangipahoa River has reopened to the public on Friday, Oct. 31.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality and the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office announced that the Tangipahoa River from Lees Landing south to Lake Pontchartrain is now open. Advertisement

Residents and visitors are asked to be mindful of the crews still working in the river as they continue to clean-up operations to ensure the river remains safe and open to the public.

Boom operations will remain in place at select locations along the river as work continues.

The "No Wake Zone" remains in effect from Hwy. 22 to Lake Pontchartrain.
