Since Elsie’s Plate & Pie opened in 2017, one man has proven to be the restaurant's No. 1 fan — and he’s recorded every dish he's ever ordered across 706 visits.

Baton Rouge native Craig Davis Rowley, 38, has kept track of the 1,564 items he's ordered from the Mid City restaurant in a detailed 48-page digital document.

“I used to eat pretty much nothing,” Rowley said. “Picky eater as a kid — the classic burger-fries-pizza child.”

Around the time he attended Baton Rouge Magnet High School, his aversion to food lost out to his aversion to family members poking fun at him.

Now, Rowley eats everything except raw oysters. The first time he laid eyes on the Elsie’s Plate & Pie menu, he was impressed by the unique selection of dishes from Southern classics to sweet pies.
