The Northern Arizona women’s basketball team is about to look as different as it has in almost a decade. After being perennial Big Sky Conference and postseason contenders for the last few seasons, the Lumberjacks are rebuilding their team from top to bottom for 2025-26.

The biggest change this upcoming season starts at the helm. Gone is head coach Loree Payne, who after eight seasons was the program’s all-time winningest coach with a record of 136-116 (.540).
