If you are a regular reader of this column, you’ll know I’m a big fan of nostalgia and the way things were in “the good old days”.
So call me old-fashioned if you like, but there’s no doubt that before the incredible growth of technology, things were a lot simpler, and generally you only had a couple of things to worry about.
The first was whether you were healthy; if so, then by the sheer luck of being born in Australia (and particularly in Perth), most times things would usually turn out alright.
If you travel overseas a bit, you soon realise just how lucky you are to be an Aussie. And then there’s that extra “protection” (or maybe security is the right word) of having the luck to live in Western Australia, the most isolated city in the world.
