A man has been arrested after leading police on a high-speed motorway pursuit in Dublin. ‌

Gardai were called to the M4 in Kilcock amid reports of a male driver armed with a suspected firearm at 9am on Saturday. ‌

Officers managed to locate the vehicle and following a lengthy managed containment operation, the car and motorist were intercepted in Tallaght shortly after 10.30am. ‌

The driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene. Garda recovered an imitation firearm, reports Dublin Live.

He was detained at a Garda Station in Co Kildare after the incident. ‌

No one was seriously injured in the pursuit but two cars were damaged.
