Chilly temperatures didn’t stop Owen Sound residents from trying an award-winning ice cream on Saturday.
Naagan chef Zach Keeshig served his sweetgrass ice cream between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. during a pop-up event at Sundays Ice Cream Parlour in Owen Sound.

Fresh off winning the Most Innovative Ice Cream award at the International Ice Cream Consortium, the pop-up was billed as one of the last chances to taste the Indigenous-inspired dessert this season.
Keegshig, who hails from the Chippewas of Nawash First Nation, owns and operates Naagan — a fine-dining restaurant serving modern Indigenous cuisine in downtown Owen Sound inside the Chicago Building (279 10th St. E). The 2025 Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants List placed Nagaan at No. 92. Naagan means dish in Ojibwa.
