Dhaka, Nov 1 (UNI) The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today confirmed that Najmul Hossain Shanto will continue as Bangladesh’s Test captain until the conclusion of the 2025–2027 ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.
Shanto, who took charge of the red-ball side in 2023, has so far led the team in 14 Test matches, a phase marked by gradual improvement and growing competitiveness in the longest format.
BCB President Mohammad Aminul Islam said the decision reflected the Board’s faith in the 27-year-old’s leadership and long-term vision for Bangladesh’s Test cricket.
