Delhi and its neighbouring cities are reeling under a severe post-Diwali air pollution crisis. Despite government efforts to tackle pollution through cloud seeding and the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)- II measures, the city is witnessing some of its worst air quality levels in recent years.
Many parts in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) have been waking up to toxic smog and severe air quality for the last few days, especially post-Diwali, with AQI readings surpassing 400 in several areas.
This year, Delhi witnessed one of the steepest single-day spikes in AQI, a jump of around 100 points between 4 pm on October 29 and 4 pm on October 30, when the figures surged from 279 to 373.
