CLEMSON, S.C. (WNCN) – It took one of Duke’s best offensive games of the season, along with a few clutch plays in the final minute, but the Blue Devils football team has beaten Clemson in Death Valley for the first time since 1980.

Darian Mensah threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns to lead Duke to a wild 46-45 win over the Tigers. Cooper Barkate added 127 receiving yards and a touchdown.

A pass interference call against Clemson on fourth down set up Duke to score with 40 seconds to play. Nate Sheppard reached the end zone from three yards out to make it 45-44, and Mensah connected with Samir Hagans for a two-point conversion and a one-point Blue Devils lead.

The Tigers’ desperate final drive ended with the Devils recovering a loose ball near midfield.
