ATHENS, Texas (KETK) - Three Taco Casa locations in East Texas are currently offering free kid’s meals as SNAP food assistance benefits begin to runout across the United States.

The Taco Casa Mexican fast food restaurants in Athens, Gun Barrel City and Corsicana have all stepped up to support the community by offering a free meal to every child who comes to one of their stores.

"We're not here to take sides or make this offer political, we simply believe that no child should ever go hungry," a sign in the Athens Taco Casa store said. "Starting today, any child from a family in need who visits our Athens Taco Casa dining room will receive a free Kid's Meal until SNAP benefits are restored for Texans.
