OTTUMWA, Iowa -- The Ottumwa Police Department says a 16-year-old juvenile has been arrested following a shooting in Ottumwa on Thursday.
The Ottumwa PD says officers and medical personnel were called to North Mclean Street and East Holt Street on reports of a shooting just before 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, authorities identified a 15-year-old who had sustained a gunshot wound to the foot.
The injured minor was transported to a medical facility for treatment, Ottumwa police say.
According to authorities, an initial investigation determined that a group of minors had gone to the 300 block of North Mclean Street to confront another group of minors. Police say that an argument resulted in a juvenile from the first group firing a gun at the second group, resulting in the injury to
