The sequel was a commercial and critical success, having earned over $125 million at the worldwide box office and a critics score of 68% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it ripe for a follow-up. However, the film series has laid dormant for several years now, with no sign of it being risen from the dead any time soon. Jesse Eisenberg, who plays Columbus, the main protagonist in the first two movies, recently offered an update on the possibility of a third outing with the gun-toting group.
