CLEMSON — Clemson lost 46-45 in a shootout with Duke on Nov. 1, continuing a historically dreadful home losing streak.
The Tigers (3-5, 2-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) still haven’t beaten a power conference opponent at Memorial Stadium since an Oct. 19, 2024, victory over Virginia . Clemson’s six losses in a row to power conference teams in Death Valley match the program’s worst skid since 1970-71.
Cade Klubnik , who was back behind center after missing the SMU loss with an ankle injury, threw for 385 yards and two touchdowns. That couldn’t quite outduel the ACC’s leading passer, Darian Mensah , who finished with 361 yards and four scores.
Clemson’s defense wasn’t able to get the final stop it needed as a pass interference call on a fourth-and-10 at the Tigers 18 resulted in Duke
