The Clear Creek Wildcats were officiall eliminated from playoff contention, as they saw Brazoswood pull into the lead late in a heartbreaker at Hopper Field on Friday night.

The scoring in what was a back-and-forth battle between the ‘Cats and Bucs began with a Noah Phillips-to-Gayland Strauther 57-yard touchdown pass to put Brazoswood ahead 7-0 in the first quarter.

Brazoswood swelled its lead to 14-0 in the second quarter on an 11-yard TD pass from Julian Diaz to Braylon Burby, but Clear Creek cut the deficit to 14-10 going into the halftime break courtesy of a safety, a 9-yard rushing TD from Hayden Ford and a two-point conversion pass.
