DELRAN – When Justin Mary Jr. felt the momentum sway to the other sideline during Saturday’s playoff game, he knew exactly what he had to do.
“I told two of my teammates, I’m ready to take all of that momentum right back,” the senior on the Delran High School football team said.
Mission accomplished.
The senior ripped off an 80-yard touchdown on the ensuing kickoff as the Bears regained the energy, built a big lead and held on for a 35-18 victory against Overbrook in the opening round of the South Jersey Group 2 tournament.
“It’s amazing,” Mary said about the playoff win. “We’ve been really working hard toward this and that hard work paid off."
