BUFFALO — The University of Toledo cross country teams swept the Mid-American Conference Championships in Buffalo on Saturday. It was the fifth consecutive title for the women and the second straight championship for the men.
Karina James was the women’s individual champion in helping to lead the Rockets to their 11th conference title, the most by any school in MAC history.
James finished with a time of 20:28.8 and was one of five UT women to finish in the top five.
Joining her were Melody Jebiwot (fourth, 20:48.7), Dorcas Jeptoo Kiptanui (fifth, 20:55.5), Lianna Surtz (seventh, 20:58.6), and Hanna Ielfield (15th, 21:16.8)
James, Jebiwot, Jeptoo Kiptanui, and Surtz all earned first team All-MAC honors. Head coach Andrea Grove-McDonough was named MAC coach of the year for the fifth cons
