NEW HARTFORD, Conn. — A body was recovered from the Farmington River in New Hartford Friday, according to Connecticut State Police.
The person was found in the river in the area of Main Street in New Hartford at 10:22 p.m. and was pronounced dead by on-scene EMS, state police said.
A resident had reported to State Police Troop B that her neighbor's dog ran up to her door with a leash attached, but the neighbor was not with the dog. State police said they were told that the neighbor was last seen in a parking lot with their dog at 3:30 p.m.
Troopers were assisted by a K9 unit and drones, which did not end up helping in the search.
