HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. (WCJB) -Many gathered at Catherine Taylor Park to honor those who’ve served the country in an early Veterans Day celebration.

The community picnic featured red, white and blue decorations across the field, dedicated to the men and women who’ve served in the military.

Ronnie Munson, a veteran who retired from the army in 2011 after 29 and a half years of service, said moments like this remind him that his service didn’t go unnoticed.

“A lot of people that come up to me, especially if I am wearing this hat and just want to show their appreciation for our service to the country and it means a whole lot,” Munson said.
