HAMPDEN -- The MDI Trojans volleyball team took home the Class C state title after defeating the number one seed Gardiner Tigers 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Right out of the gate it was MDI setting the tone as senior setter Thalia Thomas scored the game's first points on a service ace.
On her next serve, the Tigers returned it well and junior Lila Anderson put the ball just out of reach for Thomas, evening the score in the first set.
MDI momentum would prove to be too much for the Tigers, as they claimed all three sets to earn the Class C state title.
Congratulations, Trojans!
