B.C. Lions running back James Butler was a game-time decision for today’s West Division semifinal with the Calgary Stampeders at B.C. Place , but the team declared after the warm-up that he’s playing.
Butler rushed for a career-high 1,213 yards this season, which was the most for a member of the Lions since Martell Mallett went for 1,240 yards in 2009. Butler’s 11 rushing touchdowns tied for the CFL lead and were the mot by a Lions player since Joe Smith (18) in 2007.
Butler didn’t practice Tuesday and Wednesday due to an ankle injury. He was a limited participant on Thursday.
The Lions head into the game winners of six straight, including two victories against the Stampeders. That gave the Lions (11-7) the season series against the Stampeders (11-7) and the right to host today’s game
