COLUMBUS — Maximizing their strengths proved to be a successful formula for both the Bowling Green and Anthony Wayne boys cross country programs Saturday at the Division II state meet.
The Bobcats had made just two previous state appearances — with the last occurring in 2020 — but the pack running that helped them make it back this fall led to a state runner-up trophy with 191 points behind Lexington (110).
Individually, the Generals were well-represented near the top of the podium as senior Jacob Proctor turned in a runner-up finish (15:28.74) and senior Benjamin Gasiorski placed fifth (15:36.49). Anthony Wayne was making its fourth state appearance in five seasons and eighth overall and came in fourth (197).
