JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — It's that time of year again. Daylight saving time officially ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, giving everyone an extra hour of sleep but also bringing noticeably earlier sunsets.
Here in Jacksonville, the sun will set at 6:38 p.m. on Saturday, but after the time change, sunset on Sunday drops to 5:38 p.m. While early risers will enjoy brighter mornings, those who prefer long evenings will have to wait a while: our next 6 p.m. sunset won’t arrive until Jan. 29, well after the winter solstice.
