GREELEY, Colo. — Almost anything that could go right did go right for the Montana State football team Saturday afternoon.
Prolific passing, suffocating defense and airtight special teams lifted MSU (7-2, 5-0) to a 55-7 win over Northern Colorado (3-6, 1-4) at Nottingham Field. It was the Bobcats’ seventh straight victory and third straight on the road (all against Big Sky Conference foes).
MSU quarterback Justin Lamson completed 16 of 22 passes (72.7%) for a career-high 332 yards and three touchdowns with a rushing TD. Two of his TD passes and 138 of his yards went to Taco Dowler.
In the fourth quarter, Talon Marsh intercepted a pass tipped by fellow MSU defensive lineman Dom Solano and returned it about 85 yards for a TD to make the score 48-0.
