American Legion ceremony gives proper send-off to used U.S. flags

Even flags need to be laid to rest properly — and in this country, that's no more true than of the American flag itself.

On Saturday morning, American Legion Post 38 held an American Flag Retirement Ceremony at SomerSport Park, to honor the national symbol and begin the process of respectfully discontinuing the service of a number of flags obtained from their owners in the community.
