COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Emanuel County Institute’s Softball team was a swing away from forcing a winner-takes-all game three.
Saturday, ECI faced Lanier County in game two of the GHSA Class A D-II State Championship Tournament.
ECI got out to a 3-0 start thanks to a three-run homerun off the bat of Ronnee Swain-Russell.
In the seventh inning, ECI would hold onto a 7-5 lead, before Lanier’s Molly Newborn smacked a two-run homerun to left field, tying the game up heading into the eighth inning.
