PORTSMOUTH – Bishop Hendricken football coach Keith Croft called Friday night one of the most improbable victories of his coaching career.
Considering how often the Hawks have come out on top and the variety of ways in which they’ve prevailed during Croft’s tenure, that’s quite a statement.
It would be hard for anyone on hand to disagree after the rally Bishop Hendricken staged against Portsmouth. The Hawks came from down two scores inside the final five minutes of regulation to 20-17 overtime winners, with Xavier Calderon drilling the deciding 22-yard field goal.
