VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) -- Three people have been displaced after a house fire Saturday afternoon, the Virginia Beach Fire Department said.

Crews responded to a house fire in the 700 block of Saint Nicolas Square at approximately 2:55 p.m. When firefighters arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the second story of the house.

There was no one home at the time of the fire.

The fire was marked under control at 3:08 p.m. and marked out at 3:31 p.m.

Two adults and one child have been displaced by the fire. There were no injuries reported.

Fire officials say the fire originated in an upstairs bedroom. The cause is under investigation.
