HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - The Guilford Police Department provided several tips to stay happy and healthy during the adjustments of Daylight Saving Time.
Police said Daylight Saving Time generally results in a spike in car accidents, so they encouraged people to be well-rested before heading out for the day on Sunday.
In addition to turning the clocks back an hour before going to bed, Guilford police offered a few tips to get you through this time change safely:
Change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
If you have difficulty driving at night, plan on being home early.
Lock your cars!
Drive with caution as there will be pedestrians and bicyclists using the roadway when it is dark.
Wear bright clothing and use bike lights or flashlights when riding or walking on
