NORFOLK, Va. (WWBT) - Inside Chartway Arena in Norfolk on Saturday afternoon, Former President Barack Obama greeted the crowd as he took the stage to campaign for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger ahead of Tuesday’s election.

The former president’s appearance comes as Spanberger and Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears hold rallies across the Commonwealth for the final weekend before Election Day.

At the podium, Obama voiced his support for Spanberger.

“In three days, we have a chance to elect a leader who will help build a better, stronger, brighter future for Virginia,” said Obama.

During his speech, Obama criticized President Donald Trump’s policies, including immigration.

“It’s like everyday is Halloween, except it’s all tricks and no treats,”
