A South Florida food truck owner is breathing a sigh of relief after strangers jumped in to help her after her generator was stolen .

An NBC6 viewer was moved by Katherine Hernandez’s story and decided to buy her a replacement generator.

Hernandez, the owner of Pineapple Express Bar, has served Miami's West Little River community for the last 10 years and has set up shop at a gas station for the last three.

“It's taken care of me and my family this entire time, so it's everything,” Hernandez said.

But last Friday, someone took off with her generator. Gas station surveillance cameras caught the alleged thief in the act.

But after Hernandez’s story aired on NBC6, a viewer named Terri stepped in to help. Terri says the manager at the Pinecrest Home Depot also donated a chain and padloc
