NORMAN, Illinois (KCRG) - Illinois State started fast and never looked back as they beat the Panthers 31-16 on Saturday.
The Redbirds started the game with three unanswered touchdowns to build a 21-0 lead by the second quarter. The Panthers were able to put a field goal on the board before the end of the first half for a 21-3 score at the break.
Although the Panthers scored two touchdowns in the second half, it wasn’t enough to win the game as they fall on the road 31-16.
Panthers quarterback Jaxon Dailey completed 15 of 23 pass attempts for 142 yards and a touchdown. He also threw two interceptions. Dailey was also the leading rusher on the day, going 40 yards on 16 carries.
After the loss, Northern Iowa looks to their next game against Murray State on November 8th. Kickoff is set for
