MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - For many, the first day of November also marks the start of the winter holiday season.
Anyone looking for some early holiday spirit can drive down University Ave., where volunteers spent Saturday morning stringing lights on the trees that line the road.
These trees have been filled with color for 29 years, thanks to the vision of Dr. Jack Krammer.
Dr. Krammer, a Madison-based dentist, planted the trees himself, hoping to bring some joy to everyone who passed by during the winter months.
He died 15 years ago, but his son, Chris Krammer, has carried on the tradition.
“I feel like the luckiest guy in the world,” Krammer said. “It’s a gathering of friends, it’s a continuing of my dad’s gift to Madison.”
The lights will be on all night, every night, through the cold
