RALEIGH, N.C. — A tool widely used by North Carolina voters to confirm information ahead of elections is offline Saturday night.
WCNC Charlotte was alerted by a viewer that the North Carolina State Board of Elections' voter search tool was not working. The technical issue happened just days ahead of Election Day, and the tool is used to confirm information such as where a person can cast their ballots on that day.
When WCNC Charlotte tried to perform a voter search, an error screen was returned after a brief waiting period. The error message reads "An unexpected error has occurred. If this error continues then please contact us."
As of publication, the NCSBE has not offered a statement or explanation behind the issue. WCNC Charlotte has reached out to the board for more information. Thi
